What is Erasmus En Madrid?
Erasmus En Madrid is a service company focused on foreign students life in Madrid.
We ARE NOT an intermediation agency, so for using our services there are no added costs. We just ask for 1 month of deposit to reserve a room, deposit which will return you at the end of your permanence.
How can I book a room?
To book a room you just have to contact EEM staff, and we will give you all the informations about the room chosen, and the code bank to “save” your room.
Do I have to pay for the booking service?
No, you don’t. You just have to pay 200 euros as booking confirm; these 200 euros are not an intermediation cost but a part of the total deposit you have to pay.
To facilitate your understanding about the way we work, here is a hypothetical exemple:
Tom, a student who is going to stay in Madrid for 6 months, after taking a look of EEM website, decide to book a single room in Calle Toledo 21, paying 480 euros per month.
Step 1 - Tom will keep in touch with EEM staff and he will have all the informations about the room and how to reserve it.
Step 2 - Tom will send a credit transfer of 200 euros to book the room.
Step 3 - When Tom will arrive to the airport he will call EEM staff inform them of his arrival and decide about the meeting in the apartment (from the airport to the city centre it takes about 30 minutes by taxi, and 1 hour by subway).
Step 4 - Tom will sign the contract, after read it, he will have the keys and will pay the monthly rent (in Tom’s case 480 euros) adding 280 euros of deposit which, with the previous 200 euros payied by credit transfer, form the total deposit price corresponding to 1 month of rent.
Step 5 A - Tom is satisfied of the room and decide to stay in Madrid for the 6 months. At the end of that period, when he will leave the room, the EEM staff will return him the deposit detracting from it the cost of electricity, gas and water (about 30-35 euros per month ); in Tom’s case he will have back 300 euros.
Step 5 B – Tom doesn’t like the room. The staying time limit is 1 month, so he will have to pay the rent for the current month, but he will be free to search for other apartments and rooms.
